About Jess
Jess Abbattista (they/them) is a non-binary business creative, artist, and avid advocate. Jess is based in Nashville, TN where they earned a Bachelors in Musical Arts (Trumpet) from Vanderbilt University’s Blair School of Music and a Masters in Business Administration from Vanderbilt University’s Owen Graduate School of Management, focusing on Human and Organizational Performance, Social Impact & Sustainability, and Entrepreneurship.
At the Blair School of Music, Jess was a student of José Sibaja, trumpet of the Boston Brass. Jess’ trumpet playing has earned them many unique performance opportunities, such as touring across Colombia with the Vanderbilt Wind Symphony, reaching quarterfinals of the National Trumpet Competition, and soloing alongside Roxy Coss with the Blair Big Band.
At the Owen Graduate School of Management and in their career, Jess has worked and consulted with Fortune 500 companies and start-ups alike to enhance their strategy, culture, and performance. Jess also educates on diversity, equity, and inclusion, specializing in gender inclusivity. Jess is now a People & Change Consultant Analyst at PA Consulting, also enjoying freelance projects in marketing and branding as well as consulting on business strategy.
Jess enjoys hiking and nature, spending time with their family, writing poetry, and trying out new restaurants and coffee shops in Nashville.
